Two: me and my handler

We have new friends! On May 28, Golden Retriever Olly and her owners took part in a children's festival of the Kuntsevo Center for Disabled. Children liked to ride the dog, give her commands, and watch Olly's amazing performance. We hope to see them again!

This charming mongrel of a golden retriever is 1 year old. His name is Archi. He was specifically selected for an older woman. It is usually difficult to select a dog in such a case because physical abilities of a person limit the choice of a dog. Archi has passed all the tests and is proposed for Lyudmila Zanina that lives in Moscow. Our Center is looking for donations to maintain and train Archi. The training is postponed only because of lack of money. We will appreciate any help. If you would like to help Lyudmila to gain her independence again, please call Elena Orochko at 306-0025 or send her an e-mail to guidedogs@guidedogs.ru

Broomball Ball

There are numerous ways you could help us. But, until 20 March, there is another possibility for businesses that might prefer to donate something other than cash. The Moscow Broomball League, a sports league of diplomats and expats, will be raising money for our Center and the Downside Up society for Downs Syndrome children at their annual Charity Ball on 20 March. As part of the ball, prizes are sold through a raffle, which raises money for the charities. Almost anything of value can be donated to the raffle: bottles of nice wine, restaurant dinners, tours of Moscow, airplane flights, gift certificates for local stores, or anything else that people can use in their homes or lives. Contributing to such a charity is also a means for a business to make their name and their products known to the diplomatic and expat community, as well as their friends and colleagues. Donations can be coordinated by calling Elena Orochko at 306-0025 or sending an e-mail to guidedogs@guidedogs.ru or to Elena Kapoustina at elenakapoustina@yahoo.com.
