As you can see from our name, our Center is training dogs for disabled people. Mostly we train Guide Dogs for people who are blind or vision impaired. But it's not all that we do.

We train people who are vision impaired to use canes to improve their mobility and thus independence and quality of life.

We train dogs for children and adults who are physically or mentally disabled. Such dogs help them to move and develop, as well as become their friends.

And we advocate on behalf of the people we assist to make the community an easier place in which to live and work.

We do not charge for our services. We don't receive government funding. Everything we achieve is made possible by the generosity of our donors and volunteers.

We want Russia to have more Guide Dog Schools. Many local schools can help to bring closer "producers" and "customers" throughout Russia. Small schools that serve certain regions collaborate with their graduates and potential clients more effectively giving consultations and are better able to provide service and control.

In the future, we also plan to work with local government, architects, transport authorities and businesses on ways to improve facilities for people with vision impairment.

In accordance with statistics of the All-Russia Organization for the Blind there are around 277 thousand people with vision impairments severe enough to cause problems with daily living in Russia. Our services are there for all of them. In order to help all in need, it is necessary to train not less than 1 thousand Guide Dogs a year. At the moment we have less ambitious targets. Our instructors are able to train 30 Guide Dogs a year. BUT we are only training a few dogs at the moment. Why? There is only one answer - lack of funds. We do not receive any governmental assistance and fully depend on support of our donors.

Our Center's work is charitable. Our main goal is "social rehabilitation of disabled people with help of specially trained dogs". There is a lot of interesting and hard work behind these words. Not many people know about it. We want to change that. Working on this site we:

  • are trying to preserve good traditions of 40 years of Guide Dogs in Russia;
  • are going to change the unfair and humiliating stereotype view of disabled people - hopelessness and poverty;
  • hope that you will see our disabled the way we know them - interesting, brave and strong;
  • are willing to show the work of our dog trainers - masters that are devoted to their work;
  • would be happy if you appreciate the work of our dogs;
  • want to maintain trust that our disabled people have towards us and support those that need it;
  • hope to attract attention to problems of the disabled because our work largely depends on your support;

How you can help us? Here are some ideas for help and here is some information about us. Also, please read our advice on how you should correctly treat vision impaired people and their Guide Dogs.

On this website you can read about everything that is related to our work.
